History of Wellness Water®
From the beginning
In 1980 a renown Japanese sports physiologist and Olympic swimming coach, Haru Naito, wanted to produce perfect water for professional athletic clients. He was fascinated with the health and vitality of certain people in geographically diverse parts of the worlds. Why were these people enjoying healthier and longer lives than people living in other places? Haru was interested in reports of healing waters near these regions.
Small changes makes all the difference
It was Haru’s belief that even small differences in water purity, surface tension and mineral content could affect cellular function, body hydration and athletic performance. He began experimenting with various natural filtering media and completing extensive field research and study to product the world’s best water.
Location, location, location
Many health springs have claims of natural healing in the world, from Lourdes and Chartres in France, Bath and Glastonbury in England through to Cowra in Southern New South Wales. But there is another place where special water exists and where the effect of perfect water have been observed for many years.
The Hunza people in the mountains of Northern Pakistan are documented to be amongst the healthiest, longest-lived people on earth. Men have fathered children after the age of 100 and their average life span is close to 120 years of age.
Anthropologists studied these people, their culture and diet to find out why. Their diet is made up of fresh unprocessed food and their lives are stress-free. While other scientists studied the Hunza diet as the potential reason for their longevity, Haru studied their water and noticed that it hydrated the body faster than normal spring water, had a natural antioxidant quality to it and had unique mineral contents. After years of research, he was able to produce a filter that not only purified water but also imparted the same unique properties that the Hunza water possessed. After launching this filter in Japan, consumers began to report unexpected benefits after drinking or bathing in its water. Plants were seen to grow faster and healthier and animals such as cows produced more milk of a higher quality. People with chronic health conditions saw a noticable improvement in the way they felt and many doctors began to test Haru's water for a variety of condiitions. After over a decade of use and examination, the Japanese Ministry of Health began to use his filters in their hostpitals including their prestigious skin center at Okinawa.
Recently, Haru introductd his filter to the world market under the brand name of The Wellness Filter® and he established operations in his former college Town of Oneonta, NY so that he could give back to the community that befriended him as a foreign exchange student 35 years ago. Although his company did not place its first advertisement until 2006, thousands of amazed users have spread the word about his remarkable water.
Today he has all of his filters produced in North America although he still imports the specialized minerals and enhancement media from Japan.
